Mobile Alabama

Just got back from Mobile, AL...Nice town. Beautiful live oaks. Lots of seafood. Good pool weather.

Loved Wintzell's (fried oyster salad and $1 Happy Hour) and Callahan's (beer and live music).

(1) "Sit right back and you'll hear a tale..." Many junked/docked ships that were waiting...to be repaired...or scrapped...or just remembered. This tug was working Mobile Bay 5 years ago when it caught fire.

(2) Lots of not-so-helpful road signs, some of which were for temporary re-routing of Hwy 90 following Hurricane Katrina.

(3) Lots of junked cars. Is this town where metal goes to die?

I was also nearly attacked by this bugger in the parking lot of "Ed's" on the causeway...(okay, maybe not "attacked", but he was between me and the entrance to the restaurant).

Enough with the plagues, already!
